Police dealing with bullets threat to Neil Lennon and Niall McGinn

|

Celtic have confirmed that a package containing bullets addressed to Neil Lennon and Niall McGinn has been intercepted in the post.

Police in Northern Ireland said officers were called to Mallusk office on January 5 after postal workers reported suspicions about two items of mail.

The items were removed for further examination, and police are investigating the incident.

A spokesman for Celtic said: “It is now a police matter and the club has no further comment to make.”

Lennon’s international career was brought to an end after receiving a death threat whilst with the Northern Ireland squad.

Twenty-three year old McGinn was a late substitute in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Rangers last week but was left out of the squad for today’s Scottish Cup win over Berwick Rangers.
