South American cheating reaches new depths

|

Chile cheating Celtic newsChilean striker Bryan Carrasco (the rascal?) has taken cheating to new depths in this incident from a recent match against Ecuador.

Simulation covers many sins but self harm is something fairly new on a football pitch.

For years players have been prepared to do almost anything to gain an advantage and ‘getting a fellow pro into trouble’ is  now part of the game for some.

Cheating of various degrees can be found in most British matches but the finger of suspicion tends to be pointed abroad as the instigators and experts in the dark arts.

Johny Foreigner has always been a handy fall guy with Pablo South America always suspected of being one step/dive ahead of the rest when it comes to cheating.

Earlier this month there was a spectacular example given by Carrasco when Chile played Ecuador in an u-20 international.

Standing behind his opponent the Chilean held his rivals hand then delivered a backhander to himself!

On first and even second viewing it’s not so easy to pick up but with the benefits of slow-motion and some added audio it’s clear to see Carrasco’s crime.

Not surprisingly the referee failed to notice what went on but no cards were issued to the innocent Ecuador player involved.
