Liverpool Just Can't Get Enough of Celtic

|

Liverpool football newsAfter borrowing and rewording The Fields of Athenrye Liverpool have again turned to Celtic to promote their ‘fan culture’.

The marketing people at Anfield don’t have to look too far for inspiration as the club launch a ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ range of t-shirts which is apparently all about Luis Suarez!.

Numerous English clubs have picked up on the sing made famous by the Green Brigade who made it their signature tune at the start of the season sparking a fresh wave of interest in Depeche Mode.

Celtic’s 3-0 win over Rangers in February brough JCGE to an international audience with the Sky Sports cameras picking up the singing coming from 111. That game was also the first time that the ‘reverse-huddle’ was seen at Celtic Park.

I wonder if Liverpool or anyone else will copy-cat Celtic striking new look international kit?

For ten years Liverpool fans have been singing about Heighway on the wing but as yet no one has been able to locate exactly where the fields of Anfield Road are located.

The JCGE t-shirt can be bought from Liverpool for only £14.99. What’s next on the hit list of those cheeky scousers? Will it be the Brother Walfrid statue or Bairds Bar that they have their eyes on for their next swoop?.

I was at a Celtic Rally a good few years back..and top of the Bill was the Merseybeats….I had a drink with them afterwards and they said that was the first concert they had ever done …where they weren’t allowed to close with YNWA….the

Organisers had explained to them that the night always closed with the supporters belting it out …so they couldn’t……

The lead singer said to me…..

“It’s even worse…’cos you stole it from us”…..
    I couldn’t argue…..

Dalglish wore the No. 8 not 7 when he was at Celtic.
And who cares who sang what first or stole whichever song, football fans should sing whatever as long as its not offensive or bigoted.

“When i see you Celtic, i go outta ma head
    I JUST CANT GET ENOUGH!”

    Who cares?

  • Greenjedi says:

Celtic might not have been the first to sing Walk On, but we do the definative version, much the same way as The Righteous Brother didn’t do the original version of Unchained Melody, but it is by far and the way the best version, Liverpool in this case are Todd Duncan!

    🙂

Celtic and Liverpool go hand in hand. I love the fact Liverpool are gonna sing JCGE. Joe does not speak for the Celtic support and I for one wish he hadn’t posted this. YNWA

  • stephen says:

Green brigade nicked everything from st Pauli and others. We gonna gave an article about them? Doubt any media in England even knows we sing jcge – we get zero coverage or attention outside of scotland joe.
