Would you pay £47 for an SPL match?

|

Celtic ticket newsQUEENS PARK RANGERS fans will have to pay £47 to watch West Brom, Sunderland, Wigan and Bolton visit Loftus Road next season!

If you want to watch any of the top clubs next season the most expensive tickets will cost £72; money you could be depositing at an instead.

Despite being bankrolled by the richest owners in football with Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal on the board the newly promoted club are set to cash in big style on their promotion to the Premiership.

Loftus Road holds less than 20,000 fans with the owners clearly hoping that ‘floating supporters’ will pay up for a season ticket which will provide them with four London derbies as well as visits from the two Manchester clubs.

The cheapest season ticket for next season will cost £549 with most season tickets priced at £699 and £999

”It’s an absolute disgrace and, yet again, underlines the total contempt the owners of QPR have for the fans,” said Paul Finney of the Independent R’s website.

”Flavio Briatore’s dream is a ’boutique’ club, which has an exclusive feel to it and is the place for wealthy people to be seen.”

While Celtic tickets can be pricey at times, especially to watch bottom six teams, it remains much cheaper to watch Scottish football compared to the prices charged down south.

Fans of FC Wimbledon and Luton Town had to pay £36 plus a booking fee to attend Sunday’s Football League play-off in Manchester which was more than most supporters had to pay for the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Motherwell.

Only if it was against rangers, we had foreign officials and rob mclean had a gagging order on commenting on the game.

What do Premiership prices have to do with the SPL? There is no comparison between two leagues which are light years apart in financial terms and quality.

No, the SPL is one of the worst leagues in the world. If it was on in my back garden, I’d draw the curtains!

  • Joe McHugh says:

I think a lot of supporters would be happy to pay much more than £47 to see that combination of circumstances lenny4myth2!

Is there really a massive difference in quality between Wigan v Blackburn, Sunderland v West Brom and Hearts v Kilmarnock?

nevermind a cap on players wages, they should cap ticket prices or at least have a percentage of affordable tickets.

European League are ranked using Uefa coefficient system. If the SPL was as bad as you make out then it would at the bottom of league. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficient#Current_ranking

Your ill-informed option, is all too familiar.
