Celtic Twitter Directory- Thomas Rogne joins up

|

twitter Celtic newsKeep upto date with instant news through the close season from the increasing number of Celtic players on twitter.

The social networking site has had plenty of publicity in recent times but grows in strength week by week with a number of Celtic personalities happy to keep their fans and followers upto date with what they are doing.

Manager Neil Lennon has been on twitter since the new year and is happy to pass on good luck messages to supporters in-between rounds of golf with Johan Mjallby and watching cartoons with his son.

Who knows maybe @officialneil will announce a summer signing on his twitter account.

Although no longer at Celtic Marc Crosas remains the most prominent Celt on twitter and is never shy to tell folk about his love for all things Barca and Celtic.

A year ago Crosas was a fairly anonymous player to the Celtic support but through his use of twitter the fans have found out what makes his tick with regular pictures from Volga as well as a photo diary of Ryanair trip to Barcelona to watch his first club.

Crosas is the Bishop of Twitter and only yesterday confirmed the arrival of Thomas Rogne on the social network scene via Arch-Bishop Cervi of Oklahoma.

Announcing the Norwegian’s defender Crosas tweeted: “#celtictweeps @ThomasRogne25 is on twitter!my secretary @DominicCervi got told to tweet it last night!haha.at 17:30 (14:30 UK) Amkar-Volga.”

Recognising his place in the Twitter hierarchy Cervi added: “I’m not the new bishop, no one can replace @marccrosas. Just trying to help out!”

Of the current Celtic players Ki Sung Yeung boasts the biggest following with 118,000 keeping upto date with his almost exclusively Korean messaging which are matched by some bizarre pictures.

On the park at the moment @joe16led is a twitter regular with barely a day going past without some words of wisdom including a correct 2-0 prediction for the Wales-Nothern Ireland international last week.

Niall McGinn is a less frequent tweeter with Efrain Juarez on very occasionally and always in Spanish. You’ll also find Anthony Stokes who needs to tweet more often.

Goalkeeper Dominic Cervi is back home in the USA for a break and has over 7,000 followers for his take on soccer and sport across the pond.

Loan defenders Jos Hooiveld and Josh Thompson have kept supporters upto date with their activities, Thompson suffering a crisis when he lost his blackberry with Hooiveld amusing us with his views on everything from his base in Copenhagen.

The young bucks coming through the ranks at Celtic are quite prolific with Greig Spence the self proclaimed banter master with over 700 followers tuning in as he gives updates on his fast receding hair-line.

Fellow striker Tony Watt is getting on board with Spence promising to set him up with followers just as he did with goals towards the end of the season.

Goalkeeper Robbie Thompson is on regularly when he’s not pounding the fairways and kept his followers posted during his recent international trip to Denmark.

New bhoy Rhys Williamson was a tweeter before joining from Crystal Palace and is at his best chatting with fans as he gets used to the Celtic experience.

Grant Gallagher was a member of Celtic’s 2010 double winning youth side and is a daily tweeter on virtually any subject.

Rolling back a generation the goal machine from Livingston, Mark Burchill, can be found tweeting from Cyprus with Paul Dalglish singing the praises of Liverpool from Austin in the USA.

Cillian Sheridan has relayed daily thoughts on his Bulgarian experience with virtually nothing spared, if he ever gets around to writing an autobiography the Sofia chapter is bound to be interesting.

Off the park Tony Hamilton and Laura Brannan are providing fans with another valuable line of communication and information about the club.

Tony is always first up with team news on match day while Laura covers a wider portfolio which covers just about everything Celtic related or not when she’s not on her never ending drives to Inverness!

There are bound to be additions to the Celtic twitter list over the coming months as well as a few fake accounts- once Bishop Crosas has given them his blessing you can be sure that it’s the real deal.
