Andreas Hinkel is hoping that the closing of the transfer window can help relaunch his career.
The former Celtic full-back is still without a club despite interest from a number of Bundesliga clubs and is currently training with Vfb Stuttgart.
After missing the whole of last season through injury Hinkel is happy to take a pay-as-you-play deal but is still on the look out for a new club.
He told Bild newspaper: “Hopefully with the transfer window closed I’ll have a better chance of getting a club but I’ve not been in this situation before.
“I’ve been training with Stuttgart for three weeks and feel much better, before that I had been training on my own for three months and not as part of a group. It’s hard work training on your own.
“I’m at the same fitness level as the other players but need some match practise.
“I’ve always said that I would sign a performance-based contract, I need to prove myself again. I’ve played for three clubs in the Champions League, I’ve got 21 international caps but right now I just need to get playing again.”

I know a club that could do with a good experienced Right Back!

Best of luck to Andy, thought he was a solid performer with us and the best right back at the club.
