Filip Twardzik Celtic newsFilip Twardzik was on target tonight against England as the Czech Republic lost 2-1 at Brisbane Road.

The hoops midfielder scored the only goal of the game on Saturday against St Mirren and followed that up for his national team tonight.

Harry Kane and Patrik Bamford had put the homeside two up before Filip netted from a free-kick in the 73rd minute but the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.

The match was a friendly with both countries involved in the elite qualifying stage of the European Championships in May.

The Czech Republic have been drawn in Group A alongwith France, Holland and Norway with the finals being staged in Estonia in July.

Twardzik has made two substitute appearances for Celtic this season, at Peterhead and Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup, and will be heading north at the weekend with the first team in action at Aberdeen on Saturday or with the 19s away to Inverness Caley Thistle on Friday.
