SPL Celtic newsThe SPL have backed off from voting on new regulations on financial fair play, principally allowing membership to a newco following liquidation.

Despite having almost a month to discuss the options ahead of the AGM the clubs will get together next Monday to vote on the proposals.

As things stand at the moment any club going into liquidation would lose their SPL membership with a newco unable to join the SFA until they had produced three years of audited accounts.

The new rules would allow the transfer of an SPL share to a newco with a two season points deduction and 75% reduction in commercial income.

An SPL statement read: “At today’s General Meeting of SPL Clubs, discussions on financial fair play proposals were adjourned until Monday 7 May.

“A number of other proposals to amend Rules of the SPL were approved.

“SPL Rules regarding financial disclosure requirements have been strengthened to include the requirement that Clubs have no outstanding sums due to other SPL clubs as at 31 December in any year.

“From next season, pitch protection rules will be introduced to minimise the risk of damage to pitches during pre-match warm-ups, along with media co-operation rules to ensure Clubs co-operate with SPL broadcast partners.”

The votes of Dunfermline and Hibs will be of great interest with the two clubs playing at Easter Road later in the day in a virtual relegation decider.

A win or draw for Hibs should keep them in the top flight but a win for Dunfermline would keep the relegation battle going until the final day of the season.

If a newco is refused entry into the SPL it will ensure that no club is relegated in the event of Rangers going into liquidation with Ross County promoted to retain a top twelve.

We all know what is going to happen here. They are going to be staying in the spl because they are the establishment team, no other reason.

To try justifying the manipulation of rules for theor benefit is disgraceful, illicit, and shameful. This shower have brought the already crappy name of Scottish football to gutter level.

They are already the shame game. I say let them rot.

Has it not dawned of the easily deluded yet…next season no matter what league they happen to be in…they will NOT be Rangers but instead Dodo FC / Coco FC / Taxdodgers FC and will face a continual barrage at EVERY game of cheats.

Now this new mob will also be basically a youth side, as the current 19s are no better than mid table….surely then they will struggle big time against their elders on a weekly basis.

Do they honestly expect us to believe they will have 50,000 supporters every other week watching them get gubbed….dream on.

They will be the equivalent of Brechin / Stranraer with a support to match. We have already seen how loyal these fans are.

No Europe for 3 years, no money to buy players, no money to pay players…..yet they will get 50,000 fans….not even Crook Whyte would try to peddle such crap.

As for paying back the footballing debts to the clubs they owe…Celtic, Dunfermline, Dundee Utd, Inverness, Hearts do me a favour. Will Scottish Power just say ok, but you have no floodlights…or the security firm say fine but now you won’t get any stewards…a total non starter.

They are SUNK – GONE – Yesterday’s news

A new club might emerge but Rangers in ANY shape or form are now DEAD just like Third Lanark, Clydesdale, Dumbreck, Granville et al
