Celtic youth team newsCeltic’s title winning youth side face Hibs today (kick-off 12 noon Barrowfield) with more silverware and targets to aim for.

Next Monday John Kennedy’s side face Dundee United or Queen of the South at Hampden in the SFA Youth Cup Final but there are still SPL targets for the team to aim for.

The hoops go into today’s match sitting on 53 points knowing that wins in their last two fixtures, the other is at home to Rangers, will take them past the 57 points that Rangers won in season 2007/08.

“There are incentives and targets to aim for,” Kennedy admitted. “The boys have been on a fantastic run and are looking to continue that.

“Their attitde has been spot on and they demonstrated that in the way that they beat Rangers last Saturday despite having the title won.

“Hibs will present us with a tough game, they’ve beaten Hearts twice this season but they’ll be thinking about what our players are capable of doing.

“Our first game of the season was away to Hibs and that was an important win for us. The first match can be about settling in and we’ve come on a lot since then.

“We’ve got three games left this season, Hibs, a cup final and Rangers and that’s a great schedule for all of us.

“The players are wanting to win a place in the cup final side which is another incentive for them.”
