transfer window Celtic newsNeil Lennon has admitted that he’s unlikely to be shopping in England during the summer.

The hoops boss is on the look out for three or four quality additions to give his side a fighting chance of reaching the Champions League.

Celtic have scouted far and wide for players over the last two summers with Lennon confirming that the English market is unlikely to throw up affordable quality.

“England is a difficult market because of money and attracting players to come here,” the Celtic boss stated. “But there is a vast European market and a lot of talent, which is well within our budget.

“We could still afford to spend £3million to £4m if we need to but you have to get that one right. I’m wary of that when spending that amount on a player.

“I need to be sure in my own mind that he is worth the money and will make us better.

“There is value for money out there, as we have proved. Our signing strategy will not change that much but I feel we have a bit more leeway in that respect, in terms of being able to compete for these kinds of players.”
