No SPL red carpet for newco

SPL Celtic newsThe SPL have refused to sanction the transfer of a member share to a newco.

At the third time of asking the top 12 clubs finally agreed on new financial fair play rules but made no provision to allow a newco direct entry into the top flight.

The decision will come as a major blow to Charlie Green’s Rangers plans with his CVA almost certain to be rejected by HMRC and Ticketus.

If the SPL had laid down rules for a newco Green would have known the exact steps to take in the event of failing to get his CVA agreed.

The new regulations will provide stiffer punishments for clubs going into administration and also for any member that falls behind with player wages or payments to HMRC.

A statement from the SPL read: “It was agreed that, in future, any decision on the transfer of a share to a newco from any club will be considered by all member clubs, rather than the SPL board, with the felxibility to impose sanctions appropriate to each individual circumstance.”

Despite giving lots of public support to the idea of transferring a share to a newco SPL chief Neil Doncaster put a brave face on today’s announcement ignoring his wish to see a newco escape sanctions.

He said: “The new rules will impose more onerous sanctions on clubs which go into administration in the future. By making any failure to pay players on time a disciplinary issue, the SPL has sent a clear signal of the vital importance of clubs living within their means.

“Equally clubs which fail to live within their means will be punished proportionately. And, if clubs do not keep up to date with their PAYE and NIC, they will be made subject to a player registration embargo until they are up to date.

This is a progressive and bold package of changes, for which clubs should be congratulated.”

The SFA are also meeting today to review yesterday’s Court of Session judgement on the 12 month transfer embargo put on Rangers.

FIFA have stated their concern at the issue being dealt with in the civil courts which could effect the Scotland national team as well as clubs competing in UEFA competitions.

Unless a clear punishment is decided on by the SFA they could find themselves facing sanctions of their own from UEFA and FIFA.

I can’t understand why ‘ra peepul’ are trumpeting about “a victory” in court yesterday, when they know that the SFA will have to impose an alternative punishment.

The SFA now has to come up with a punishment for breaking the rules in the five cases where ‘NEWCO 2012’ have been found guilty. AND they also have to come up with a punishment that satisfies FIFA and UEFA — unless ‘NEWCO 2012’ set aside the court decision and accept the one-year transfer embargo.

…..So what the Hell are they celebrating?????.

The incompetence and the “looking after our establishment team” approach of the SFA has led to every other club in the game being endangered in any future competitions involving UEFA and FIFA. These retards have acted shamefully, protecting rangers and many of themselves from exposure to the corrupt, no, blatantly corrupt moves which have been in place for the past ten years plus.

The SFA have now reached their Armagedon! Stand up and be counted or destroy the game further than you already have. In their continued efforts to protect their own personal interests, they have made the Scottish game a laughing stock. This came to a head last week with the thrashing from a team who should be considered to be from a “third world of soccer”.

This is the same SFA who hired a bigoted Gordon Smith as President of the association, followed him up with another bigot, and tax dodger, Campbell Ogilvie. tghe hired a proven bigot to run the referees hugh the bigot dallas, and his team of “old boys club” cheats and proven liars, Dougie McDonald, for one, all in the name of trying to buy their establishment club titles, cups, passports to Europe, etc. the same establishment team who is unwelcome in every country and city in Europe, because of their bigoted, disgusting behaviour, thuggery, insanity and idiocy.

The courts in Scotland stand by and watch an Irish Cathiolic man, who also had the audacity to be a Celtic manager, physically attacked, seen by millions on TV, witnessed by multiple credible witnesses who said so in court, the crime admitted by the coward who waited till the Irish Catholc’s back was turned before attacking, yet still somehow managed to return a not-proven verdict.

Is it really any wonder we are now one of the lowest ranked countries in the world for football? Closed minded people in positions of power are the real issue in Scotland. In their eyes, it is not going to get worse if they are hammered by FIFA or UEFA, as long as they save their establishment club.

      Joe,

Whilst I agree with your comments over rangers and the laughing stock that scottish football is fast becoming, there are some points that you omit in your post.

First up, USA ‘third world’ football, that’ll be why the are placed 19 positions above us in the world rankings then ? We are the third world footballing nation now and have been for a good number of years.

Secondly, John Wilson’s attack on Neil Lennon at Tynecastle failed to bring about a guilty verdict because of the ‘religious hatred’ addition to the charge. No one could prove definitively that the attack was provoked with religious hatred.

If they had just charged him with assault, he would have been found guilty, but no, the crown office wanted to pursue the religious hatred tag. It should also be noted that John Wilson did spend four months banged up in Saughton Prison between the assault and the trial.

Wish you had read what I said before you commented. I said that the USA were a team who “should” be considered to be from a third world country of soccer. I didn’t say they are, and my very pointbwas that they are miles ahead of Scotland currently.

Meanwhile my heart bleeds for the rat who was “banged up” for four months! Paint that picture ny way you like. He gotvaway with it because of who he attacked in small minded Scotland, just as two retards who sent bombs in the mail got away with dropping “attempted murder” charges.

It makes me wonder just what they damage they thought bombs would do? Give him a fright with the bang maybe?

  • My worry is that there is a trend in all Scottish ruling bodies to just not care about consequences e.g.the new sectarian laws etc. For me the footballing issues merely highlight a wider disdain for human rights, human dignity, truth and justice. If that is so, then Scotland becomes a dictatorship where the power brokers will hold Mugabe-esc sway. To use another’s excellent vocabulary, it has long become an ‘obscenity’.
