FIFA Celtic newsFIFA are set to enter the Sevco controversy as the SFA run up the white flag.

Jamie Ness, Steven Whittaker and Kyle Lafferty have all signed contracts with clubs who will have to contact the SFA for an international transfer certificate.

The former Ibrox trio have had their contracts cancelled despite Charles Green’s attempts to TUPE the deals over to Sevco.

Stoke City, Norwich City and Sion have signed the players in good faith on the understanding that they are free agents and available to play for their new clubs.

The SFA haven’t covered themselves in glory over the last 12 months as they attempt to keep upto date with the crisis at Ibrox and retain governance of the game.

Charles Green has called in the SFA to help Sevco gain compensation for the players walking away but since Sevco aren’t members of the SFA it’s difficult to see how they can intervene.

The SFA have already indicated that they’ll pass the matter to FIFA for guidance highlighting the total lack of leadership coming from Hampden.

Stoke have already contacted the players union with Gordon Taylor in no doubts about how FIFA will view the situation.

“The players agreed to defer some money,” the powerful union boss explained. “But the club has not honoured their contracts so they are entitled to be free agents, and I don’t see any reason why FIFA wouldn’t accept that.

“If you can’t honour a player’s contract you can’t say you wish to keep him and ask for money for him.”

Ten Rangers players have already rejected the TUPE proposals with others including Carlos Bocanegra and Maurice Edu also expected to refuse a transfer to Sevco.

The administrators of our game are so thick its embarrassing. They still talk about rangers as if they still exist. What is the criteria for these people getting into the responsible positions they are in? Its certainly not brains.

Funny handshakes son, funny handshakes, nothing more.

Oh the irony Rangers sign players from other clubs without paying in full monies due and now other clubs are now signing their players for no money at all.

If ever anything has confirmed everything we knew to be true about the serious incompetence of the SFA, this fiasco involving the now confirmed cheats from govan, has done just that!

In their 100% focus on doing everything in their power to save what used to be rangers, even to the point of a massive overhaul of all leagues in Scotland with only a few weeks to go until thevstart of the season, they are unable to make a good decision on anything. There isn’t a country anywhere in the world where this would happen.

Not even communist China or North Korea would make attempts to overhaul every league, affect every other team in the country just to save one, the one who has brought major shame to our game for decades. This SFA focus on assuring the success of rangers has been a major factor in the ongoing demise of the game in Scotland? The SFA are as shameful as the team they bend over to salvage.

There is nothing tough about having pre-determind rules to follow and applying them, regardless of who is to be punished. Oddly enough, they always seem to manage to dish out maximum punishment to a certain Neil Lennon, and he DOESN’T deserve it!

Will this useless bunch of twats …formerly known as the SFA/SPL …ever do anything right?
They should be relieved of their duties immediately…
A bunch of incompetent Rankers’ loving hypocrites.
Where’s Wee Fergus when you need him….Again..?

I know that its probably not feasible but is it not high time in the wake of the overwhelming Scottish football supporters show of unity and display of fan power towards saying ‘NO to a Newco’ in the SPL, that a ‘Supporters Union’ be formed for the good of the game with Sporting Integrity as its sole aim and the removal of anyone by a Supporter’s Union who does not match up to these principles. Number 1 on the agenda would be the removal of Stuart Regan of the SFA and Neil Doncaster of the SPL…who would object to that other than the obvious. Just a thought!

  • There has been quite a significant sea-change in all of this. Another country is involved, England, a quite powerful entity in the footballing world. Gordon Taylor is not one to be ignored and the reference to the involvement of F.I.F.A. has opened a potential floodgate that may see a torrent of decisions and reform being recommended. How far the international power brokers decide to go, will probably determine if individuals journey to the guillotine or not. I guess a lot will depend on their management history and if I were one of them, I do not think I would be cancelling any barber’s appointments just yet. If F.I.F.A. are invited to handle some of the intricacies, as seems to be suggested, I doubt they will use their sojourn to examine purely simple and rather straightforward, at least to those with eyes, ears and some sawdust, employment issues. I believe they will want some cosy ‘evening chat’ as they sip their port and puff a cigar or two around the log fire. Awkward question could well be asked about the subversive handling of far more insidious affairs in and around Scottish football over the last 10 or 20 years. If the confessions are juicy enough, and who would doubt it being so, I can easily see them sending a warm invitation to their wee cousins U.E.F.A. to join them and come discover the incompetence and intrigue that has governed the game in Scotland for a long, long time. I suppose incompetence breeds stupidity. Who would invite the police into their back yard where they can discover the graves, especially when so much trouble has been taken to hide the bodies. Only our ever competent S.F.A.!

lets be frank & dont kid urself; if fifa & uefa are to get involved this scandal u can kiss goodbye to european football for 3 yr’s as scottish football will be bnned from international footblall – both club & country.
dont forget these 2 organizations are just as corrupt as the next & care about nothin but $$$$$ just like the rats tht run scottish football

      • Another agenda from the heights of Hampden, perhaps?

If one club is not allowed to escape, then we will punish all and take the whole edifice down with them? I admit, though upbeat at the prospect of FIFA or UEFA involvement to sort out the mess, I am under no illusion as to the potential consequences.

As for corruption, well, the extent seems to be proportionate to organisational size and UEFA & FIFA are big!

  • Hugh Purcell says:

Very disappointed to read on another website that Clyde FC seem to think that sporting integrity is just a cover for a lot of supporters of Clubs ‘hating’ the Club formerly known as Rangers plc! I refute that absolutely. Fair play, respect, and playing according to the spirit of the rules is surely the least we can expect of all Clubs. Otherwise Scottish football may as well close it’s doors.

    • Have to say, Hugh, that I found parts of the Clyde statement a bit indecisive. It seems to tak one way then veer another. In the end, I regarded it a s a badly expressed objection to both corruption and fans, if you get my drift.

“Rangers” as a liquidated business no longer exist. If they do continue to exist in any form whatsoever they are liable for all the debts they have failed to pay. The new company Sevco 5088 must be seen to sever all ties with the old liquidated Rangers FC otherwise they are liable for all the debts.
