The campaign to invite newclub Rangers into Division One or SPL 2 is underway with Partick Thistle, Cowdenbeath and Scottish Football League chief David Longmuir all talking up the prospect.
On Saturday details of an SFA plan to merge the SPL and SFL emerged just seven weeks ahead of the new season.
SPL clubs met at Hampden on Monday to discuss the liquidation of Rangers and will meet again on July 4 to vote on an application from Charlie Green’s newco for SPL membership.
With all clubs under pressure from supporters to say no to the newco the need for a plan B has become obvious with the creation of SPL 2 alongwith other radical changes helping to soften the blow of a season with only one Glasgow club in the top division.
Reports that Green is looking to take his newclub to England in place of Bury could backfire on the Yorkshireman at a time when Scottish football is bending over to accommodate a newclub at any cost to the games plunging credibility.
Current SFL rules only allow a newclub to enter Division Three but after a meeting yesterday the SFL are prepared to consider other options to include Rangers.
Longmuir revealed : “We’re right in the middle of discussing all the options and Rangers dropping into the First Division is one.
“There are other options available as well but we’re just trying to do what is best for Scottish football.
“We’re not ruling anything out at the moment and there’s a lot of work to be done before anything can be agreed on.
“I think we looked at every option that was available to benefit the game and the Rangers issue was one of them.”
Warming to the idea David Beattie of Partick Thistle added: “It’s all about the detail, it’s about dealing with sporting integrity as well as commercialisation. Let’s be honest, commercialisation doesn’t work in Scottish football without Rangers.

Taking things a few steps further Cowdenbeath are floating the idea of two visits from Rangers to sell season tickets!
Donald Findlay’s assistant chairman John Lints said: “The current educated speculation is that the newco Rangers may be relegated to SFL First Division where they would of course meet Cowdenbeath.
“This would mean potentially two all ticket full houses against Rangers. We are also hoping for close to full houses against Dunfermline. Accordingly supportrs should now snap up the remaining earlybird season tickets currently available.”

Did we really think the SFA would let their beloved SCUM FC 1872/2012 suffer the consequences of decades of deception that they knew about.

If The Rangers are not in the Third Div next season it will be an absolute disgrace. Let’s get one thing clear, the Newco are not being relegated to the First Div they are being promoted to the First Div. They are a brand new club, they are not Rangers we all know & hate! Third Div is not a punishment to the Newco it is where a Newco has to start from.
I honestly can’t believe how much everyone is bending over backwards to help these cheats. The old club cheated everyone in Scottish football for over a decade & have shown no remorse at all! Sky have already stated they will always support Scottish football with or without Rangers so let’s drop that argument right now. I’m really getting sick of this shit!
If the Newco is anywhere but Third Div next season then Celtic should do whatever they can to move to England. Start from League 2 & work our way up to the Premiership. Scottish football will have shown it is a completely corrupt institution with zero integrity & I for one want Celtic to be as far away from them as possible. Then see how much you need The Rangers
Simple and sad fact is the average club in Scotland can`t see beyond their nose.
There’s chairmen who will abandon any principle for profit and the supposed authority of uefa is a shame they`re a money making organisation first and foremost with interest only in protecting there own money making competitions not in member nations responsibility`s to their league structure.

Let’s see caught cheating for 10 years so lose all points gained…would mean automatic relegation x 10…..so they SHOULD be in the Junior leagues.
Now our footballing authorities are doing twisting the rules inside out to simply demote them ONE division. Sporting integrity is thrown out the window….I don’t think it will be forgotten EVER if it is allowed to happen & Scottish football will be the BIG loser.
Moreover the clubs in Div 2 & 3 will all lose out and any of them will surely appeal thereby delaying any vote. Accept the reality, Division 3 is the BEST that should be assigned to the cheats. I’d still insist on a 12 month suspension then Division 3 application with any other interested parties on an equal basis. Your a NEW club so deserve no more consideration than any other applicant.

Are teams in divisions 2&3 not allowed to make an HONEST buck?
After last years sculdugerry they should not be issued with any sort of football license at all.
Their whole club from the players to the board right down to the bricks and mortar of their putrid club is steeped in stolen money, money stolen from the pockets of the most vulnerable in our society! I don’t hear anyone even mentioning the despicable crimes they are guilty of any more.
Surely UEFA must get involved, what about the three year audited accounts rule?

‘The prospect of being bulldozed into a new set up under the direct control of the SFA isn’t welcomed by the SFL with chief executive David Longmuir defending the independence and structure of his set up.
Asked about accommodating newco in the SFL he said: “It would be a newco scenario and the only way we could accommodate any new application would be to create a gap in the Third Division through the play-offs with teams shuffling up.
“We would then judge every case on its own merits. There would be no provision for any newco Rangers to go into the First Division rather than the Third.
“The decisions that have to be made by the SPL and SFA in the coming weeks are far more crucial than the knock-on effects that come to the SFL.
“There are no winners in this situation. The good of the game is balancing sporting integrity with the finances available and to be realistic about the future”

Someone should maybe be having a wee look at Mr Longmuirs bank accounts, IMO.
What a sham! Only in corrupt little Scotland could this happen! The Italians have been hit by scandals and with total disregard for which team was found to be the culprit, they were dealt with accordingly. Juventus had their titles stripped, were relegated, and started the season with a negsative points tally.
The problems really facing the SFA is that they have too much of a vested interest in what happens to the team who used to be called rangers. They aren’t helping anything by keeping oglivie on board either. Here we have a guy who was not only aware of the corruption at ibrox, but was actually a benefactor! Yet the SFA are protecting him in all of this.
This obviously makes you wonder just how many others in the SFA received “bnefits” from the team that used to be called rangers? We all know the connections of people like hugh dallas, dougie macdonald, willie young etc, but are the SFA still hiding some more skeletons in their closets?
Their actions in this massive cover-up operation would make you think it is entirely probable!
The only thing the people running Scottish football are good at is corruption. When will UEFA confront these villains? Scottish football is on it’s knees because of these people.

Referee bias on match day = £25,000 (Not negotiable if your Celtic F.C)with sliding scale for decisions during match eg: Corner = £500. Free Kick just outside the box = £500. Penalty = £2,000 Extra Time = £500.00 per minute. Linesman = £500. each. Extra Home game = £5,000. Ruling against legitimate goal = £2,000. It’s a buyers market in Scottish football’s commercial world of zero principles. Oh!, and Sporting Integrity Mr Chairman . . .PRICELESS!

Scottish football is finished if i cant believe its not Ranjurs start anywhere apart from div 3.OK we know you want to help newclub the only way possile to help is by putting them in div3 then reconstructing leagues so they only spend 2 yrs out of top division.
