Scottish League newsDunfermline have given an overwhelming thumbs down to Neil Doncaster’s attempt to carve up Scottish football for the benefit of Charlie Green’s newco.

With no sign yet of an application for membership of the SFA Green’s newco are hardly going out of their way to win friends and influence people.

Nevertheless with Doncaster scheming in the background everything possible is being done to parachute Sevco into the SFL despite almost unanimous resistance from football fans with most Rangers fans appearing to prefer Division Three for a relaunched club.

Dunfermline were relegated from the SPL to the SFL but despite the drop in income and prestige the East End Park board have made their feelings on creating a First Division slot for Sevco crystal clear.

“Matters are currently being progressed in an illogical manner, as the SPL should have met and voted on the Rangers situation definitively,” a club statement read following an emergency board meeting today.

“Thereafter, if there is to be change, a joint presentation should be made by all the Scottish football governing bodies together and not on an ad hoc basis as at present.

“The board of DAFC can confirm that it will not be voting in favour of any solution which involves “Newco” being parachuted into SFL Division 1 next year.

“The revised proposals we have reviewed contain a number of suggestions that are entirely credible in isolation and everyone agrees that the structure of Scottish football must change.

“But it must be done for the right reasons and not used as some form of bargaining tool.

“The proposal document makes little or no mention of fans or their views, as was the case with the league reconstruction debate, and all these issues must now be put on the table to deliver a credible, equitable and viable solution.

“The document strongly implies that if the proposals are not accepted, then we will have financial meltdown in Scottish Football but if the loyal fans across the country desert the game then commercial sponsors or TV companies will have no one to promote or broadcast to.

“The McLeish Report made a number of solid recommendations but Scottish football needs to be more radical with a number of additional matters being addressed as a matter of urgency, such as what do the paying public want?

“It would appear that the broad thrust of the McLeish Report appears to have been given immediate traction in the last couple of weeks, entirely for the wrong reasons.”

Earlier today St Mirren announced that they will vote against Sevco’s application to join the SPL with Morton, Raith Rovers, Falkirk and Hamilton all opposing the ‘reconstruction’ plan to create a place in the First Division.

It’s believed that the majority of Second and Third Division clubs are against the Sevco plan which could see them cut adrift from a two tier Professional League.

We can make a start on cutting costs by removing Messrs… Ogilvie (Who is clearly surplus to requirements / not fit & proper) Mr. Doncaster Who is clearly way out of his depth & Mr. Reagan another who has obviously been told to shut up in recent weeks and does as he is told.

We could easily replace these 3 stooges without any chance of making things worse such is the level of ineptitude displayed to date.

Just when Scottish Football is crying out for leadership we get the Chuckle Brothers.

  • At long last clear and unequivocal statements are coming from the top. It is an overdue but unreservedly welcome attitude for a club chair to regard the voice of football’s very heart and lungs, the fans, to be a central part of any change. The growth in concern for fan recognition among many of those involved in governance is heartening but, alas, it is the heads of governance that need to have the blinkers removed.

  • Hats off to all the teams of all leagues coming out, although not united, they all have a common answer, the same as the fans of all Scottish teams of all leagues. The answer is NO to Servco in any shape or form.I doubt that Div 3 even want them.

The only way for this to be stopped is for Ogilvie,Doncaster,Reagan to moved from this corrupt “institution”

Words failed me on the stadium & training ground formally known as *rangers and the corruption but this institution has just a bare faced brass neck. The world is watching and yet they continue. Sion FC don’t have a look in on these idiots/bigots.

    End this now.

Why don’t the football clubs vote to remove Ogilvie, Doncaster & Regan from the top of their organisation and appoint their own directly elected Chairman and Committee.

Perhaps as an interim Chair while we rid ourselves of these despicable people we could consider Henry McLeish, whose report on the state of our game and his proposals for a future path, seem to have been received with almost universal approval.

Although it is never a great idea to have an architect deliver a project McLeish overseeing the initial stages would be no bad thing. His abilities to oversee committees and meet with people of influence while applying the current rules may be invaluable at this time.

    Williebhoy,

I agree, all senior and junior members, (as this might be affecting them soon…..)of Scottish Football should be putting in vote of no confidence in this so called leadership at the SFA, whats happening is diabolical, everyone seems to be able to see through the transparency of their desire to re instate the former “rangers” at the highest possible position.

Scottish Football is being run,and always has, from the darkest halls of masonic secrecy, it must be stopped. A vote of no confidence is a must, and now.
