Charles Green Rangers newsCraig Beattie has blamed Charles Green for killing off his Sevco dream.

The constantly injured former Hearts substitute trained at Murray Park in a bid to prove his fitness but has given up on winning a deal with Sevco.

Ally McCoist has signed Fran Sandaza and Kevin Kyle leaving Beattie to return down south in a bid to find a club.

“I’m disappointed things didn’t work out,” Beattie told the Daily Record. “The situation dragged on and I don’t want to go into too much detail but it’s important I clear one or two issues up.

“I wanted to play my part in getting Rangers back to the top of the Scottish game. I felt I could score the goals to get Rangers back up the leagues and was prepared to accept all the criticism that would have come my way because of my time at Celtic.

“I spoke to Ally and was under the impression he really wanted me on board and that excited me but in the end, it became obvious he and Green were not on the same wavelength.”

Beattie added: “There seems to be a perception the deal fell through because I was holding out for more money – and that could not be further from the truth.

“I was prepared to drop down the divisions not to make a fast buck but because I wanted to be a part of something big.”

Beattie has been training with Notts County in a bid to win a deal with the League One club.

Aside from this debacle with Beattie – how can they do it ? don’t pay your bills and then offer rediculous money for the third division – and they say that they have been punished enough ! the transfer ban should have been immediate !

    • paranoidandroid says:

Your right. Surely, someone in authority- tax or footballing authority- must be asking where is this money coming from? And why are they being allowed to spend it?

      • Ciaran says:

Independently audited financial figures should shed light on a club’s ability to pay their way and, more importantly, fulfil their season’s fixtures without going belly up.
This little detail appears to have been waived so as not to upset Sally again.
They might be Sevco, but they get treated very much like the old club. Their name escapes me.

  • Morto says:

Is it just me or does the Newco financial model strongly resemble the Oldco version?
Spend money you don’t have and stick your fingers in your ears when anyone asks questions.
