Charles Green has issued a fresh attack on the Scottish football authorities comparing the workings of the SFA to landing on the mystical planet Zog. He also claimed that the SPL investigation into dual contracts beggars belief.
The SFA have already asked the Ibrox chief to explain his claim that SPL and SFL clubs were driven by bigotry when they voted against providing Sevco with an SPL or First Division place.
Sevco start their league campaign at Peterhead on Saturday but it’s previous league campaigns that have been attracting headlines in recent days with David Murray and Alex McLeish criticising the SPL for looking into allegations of dual contracts.
Murray came out angrily at the suggestion Rangers could be stripped of titles for using players that weren’t properly registered with Green backing up those comments.
“I read David’s comments and he’s made some really really important points,” Green told Radio Scotland last night. “This issue about EBT’s is out there, some some unbelievable reason the SPL believe that it is something worthwhile pursuing.
“In my view it’s of no interest for anyone and we should all now get on to playing football.
“My view is entirely the same as David Murray’s view, this club made the disclosures required of it, there’s been an investigation, the worry that I ‘ave as I’ve seen in the last few months is that judgement is delivered before the trial.
“It’s unique (Scottish football) it’s absolutely unique, there’s nothing else like it, it’s like landing on the planet Zog. What I’ve seen and experienced ‘ere in Scotland beggars belief.
“I’ve said before that I always expect the unexpected, I’m sure that there will be more twists and turns in the story but ‘aving seen the support we’ve ‘ad today me and my investors are behind this club, we’re ‘ere to stay and we’re going to make sure that we get through these problems together with the fans supporting us.”
