Darren O'Dea Celtic newsDarren O’Dea is still waiting for his first win as a Toronto player after losing 4-2 to LA Galaxy.

Robbie Keane notched a double in the match leaving the Canadian side seven points adrift at the bottom of the table.

While acknowledging the ability of his international skipper O’Dea couldn’t hide his disappointment about his own side’s display.

The defender said: “I spoke before about being mentally strong and it’s quite clear this squad is not mentally strong enough. Everyone can play 3-1 down, there’s nothing to lose.

“It’s when you are nil all, it’s when it counts and we weren’t good enough when it was nil all… we’ll be itching to get a win because it’s been a long time coming.”

He added: “Robbie showed his class, if you give him a chance he’ll score. He only had two shots all night but that’s all he needs and we got punished.

“It’s disappointing, when you look at the goals we should have done more with two of them.”

Since returning from Euro 2012 Keane has fired in 11 goals in 15 games but is happy to deflect praise to his team-mates.

He said: “The whole team has been doing well. It’s not just individuals.

“We look like a proper team. We’re doing things together. We’re attacking together, which is important. We need to keep that going.”

Toronto are in Champions League action tomorrow away to Águila of El Salvador. Next month Toronto face Santos Laguna in Champions League action.
