David Murray Rangers newsThe Daily Record has turned  attention onto David Murray as liquidators BDO move in to uncover the circumstances that led to administration and  the liquidation of Rangers.

Earlier this year Murray claimed that he had been duped into selling the club to Whyte but the body of evidence suggests otherwise.

Former Rangers chairman Al Johnston issued dire warnings about selling the club to Whyte but Murray ignored that advise to flog the club for £1.

The former Motherwell born billionaire had already been exposed on-line as a less than credible businessman despite the best efforts of his PR advisers.

Today’s Daily Record reveals details of the background enquiries into Whyte that predicted his ownership would have disastrous consequences.

Private investigators Titon examined Whyte’s business background on behalf of Rangers and concluded that he was ‘fuyant’ a French phrase for an evader or manipulator.

The report also stated that there was no evidence to back up claims that Whyte was a billionaire and highlighted ‘the questionable source and extent of his reported wealth’. It also highlighted different dates of birth used is his directorships.

From revealing Whyte as a potential new owner with untold wealth and a transfer warchest for Walter Smith the Record rarely doubted the man from Motherwell.

Occasionally they questioned his Swiss business empire and highlighted a court action from former Albion Rovers manager Paul Martin.

One article questioning about the role of Ticketus and warning of a Leeds United type deal was quickly removed from the Record website as the new Whyte regime was praised.

Reality finally dawned in January of this year with administration arriving on February 14. Whyte has come out fighting recently as the architect of the clubs’ downfall with today’s revelations slowly turning attention towards Murray and his claim that he was duped by Whyte.

Surely the penny can’t br dropping at Daily Rangers Towers? I’m sure if it did though, Chuckles would be there to catch it and claim that ‘even the media are behind us now and putting money in’

Appears The Daily Make It Up is nearly TWO YEARS behind with this “Exclusive”
Did we not tell them and the world that wee Craigie was indeed a shyster of the first order with no money but plenty of failed ventures behind him. Next they will be telling us (Exclusively) that Duff & Duffer did not act in the best interest of the creditors and that slippery Dave was the purveyor of an illegal Tax Dodging scheme, then I suppose this time next year they will exclusively reveal that Chuckles Green fleeced zombies of their weans Christmas money.

The only reason that rag is now highlighting Murray’s role is because it’s hand has been forced due to the re-emergence of Craig Whyte. This is a newspaper, and I use that term loosely, that effectively acts as an Ibrox mouthpiece.

Anything that will show oldco/sevco in a negative light is sat on until the last possible moment and even when it is made public it has the usual ‘Record’ spin on it, which basically means twisting and distorting the facts out of all recognition to limit the damage on their favourite ‘institution’.

You only have to look at how they reacted to the Craig Whyte interview on the BBC last week to know that. They mocked Whyte’s claims regarding Duff and Phelps knowing about the Ticketus deal by portraying him on their front page as pinocchio. What they didn’t bargain for was the wily Whyte having a recording to prove his claims. Not for the fist time they have been made to look foolish by Whyte.

With Chuckles Green now the new king of Ibrokes Murray can no longer get them to bark and beg like they used to.

    Hail Hail.

We don’t need chipwrappers to tell us what we already know. Newspapers are on their last legs and no wonder with such late news.

Murray is facing the music, while he is undoubtedly the major guilty party, I think he might take others with him. Hopefully HMRC/BDO go after ALL those who gained from the illegal EBT’s for outstanding tax due.

Next up time for the SPL to show some backbone and implement the rules properly. Lance Armstrong has now found he is NOT bigger than the sport. Football should take it’s lead from them, quick, decisive action to let the fans know they want the game cleaned up.

If Chico wants to shout his mouth off again, then hit him where it hurts…Plenty of managers have been hit in the pocket – time he was put in his place.

As much as it would be awesome to see them properly punished, it isn’t going to happen. They are getting away with it simply because there are far too many dirty backers on the SFA and SPL board to allow themselves to become exposed too. Remember if they get punished, they will take others down with them, and the establishment have too much to lose for that. But we all know, the world knows, that old club who used to be called rangers were corrupt and cheated. The facts won’t change.
