Bhoys head for Rugby Park

|

Steve Frail Celtic newsCeltic’s u-20 side travel to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park tonight, kick-off 7pm.

Last Monday’s 3-1 win over Motherwell lifted the hoops into top place with Kilmarnock beating previous leaders Dundee United 3-0 at Rugby Park.

Tonight’s match is the third fixture following the winter break with coach Stevie Frail hoping to build some momentum from the win over Motherwell.

He said: “We’ve spoken a lot with the players about certain things and their attitude in training has been excellent, they showed that against Motherwell.

“Hopefully that will continue at Kilmarnock, last week is finished and it’s about the next fixture, they can’t sit back and they know that they have a lot of work to try and make a career in the game at Celtic.

“That will be tough but they have to keep working away to prove that they are good enough.”

Frail added: “Kilmarnock had a good result last week, they had a bit more experience than Dundee United and we’ve had them well watched this season.

“We’ve got to prepare ourselves properly and look forward to going to Rugby Park, I don’t think any of our boys have played there before.

“It’s a nice pitch with big open spaces, going to stadium’s like that adds something to the league and gives everyone a lift.

“Getting under the floodlights adds to the occasion and we’re looking forward to the match and taking everything forward.”

Paul George, Bahrudin Atajic and Patrik Twardzik were on the scoresheet last week against Motherwell.
