Brown admits past regrets

|

John Brown newsJohn Brown has admitted to regrets about his past in his first full day as Dundee manager.

The controversial appointment has outraged many Dundee fans and split the club boardroom.

In most circumstances the appointment of a former player with limited management experience would get a lukewarm welcome but one incident from Brown’s recent past obscures all other memories.

The moment that he took to the steps of Ibrox in front of an adoring crowd urging them to starve Charles Green out the door left a mark on Brown’s reputation that no spin doctor could ever put a positive light on.

Repeating constantly his need to see the ‘title deeds’ that image of Brown in stamped into the memory of football fans throughout Scotland- not least at Dundee where they are being asked to welcome their former midfielder back into the fold.

Without referencing his Ibrox rallying call Brown said: “Anything I’ve done in life, you take responsibility for.

“There are things I’ve done that I regret but you know what, you live with that. You stand up and take one on the chin. I’m here to take one on the chin for Dundee Football Club.”

Brown watched Celtic hammer five goals past Dundee on Sunday with the only realistic hope of avoiding relegation coming if Hearts go into administration.

The sacking of Barry Smith followed by the appointment of Brown has stunned Dundee supporters with Brown revealing that he took on the job through an invitation rather than applying for the post.

He added: “I was out of it for a year and got a call on Wednesday night from Scot Gardiner, saying would I help Dundee out. That’s what I’m here to do. People say there’s a mountain to climb but people climb mountains every day.”

Mountaineers climb mountains, not rabble rousing thugs. Dundees red card count will rise now that Bummer Broon is in charge. Enjoy the first division next season. Tadger.

At the game on sunday I was watching Dundee trying to play football, passing it on the ground trying to keep possession and make moves etc, usually teams come to CP and just sit in kicking everyone in a Hooped jersey, but i actually think they are a much better team than what their league position would have you believe. ..

And I was saying to myself how the heck did Brown get this gig, makes no sense, and he is going to take this team and turn them from a team who try to play football and fair into cloggers and as you says about the red cards, well thats my perception of this do-ball, I am no fan of the Dundee club, but hey those fans and plsyers dont deserve this mouthpiece. #RedCardsAPlenty- its Bombers Baw Noo 🙁

The Hun philosophy has never been explained more clearly.

  • Hope he and all sevco zombies take responsibility for the things theyve done whilst they rot in hell. 1 of the most embarrassing statements to ever come out of fat swally today was that maybe the govan orcs need to explaining what songs they can and cannot sing, he thinks this would help resolve the sectarian singing problem, FFS is he for real, the government and the police have made a list of banned and illegal songs, backed by UEFA, yet every week they stand idly by and allow and no doubt encourage them to sing them with impunity.Scotland for independence, god i hope not, a country run by Masonic people for Masonic people, hail hail

The zombies are irrelevant let them makes fools of themselves! It’s all they know!

It’s all about the Celtic… First, last and overall 😉

Can’t see hertz going out of business stopping dundee going down , Dunfermline didn’t get saved when rangers sank last season , a precedent has been set.

  • SJY says:

I thought Dundee played some nice stuff on Sunday, you could see what Barry Smith was trying to do. Nicky Reilly in particular was good in the 1st half before fading

Why Brown was appointed I will never know
