Steve Frail Celtic newsCeltic’s youth team are back in action tonight facing Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium, kick-off 7pm admission FREE.

Two days after beating Aberdeen 2-0 to reach the semi finals of the SFA Youth Cup Stevie Frail’s side are out to extend their 10 point advantage at the top of the league.

Steven Pressley’s first team has barely any players over 21 with the Falkirk boss likely to use tonight’s match as part of their preparation for Saturday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final away to Hamilton Accies.

Celtic have won six and drawn once in their last seven outings but Frail believes that the side are capable of more whilst acknowledging that his side are regularly playing against more experienced opponents.

“We’re on a good run of results but I don’t think that we’re playing as well as we can,” the Celtic coach admitted.

“You can’t get perfection but we’re trying to be more fluid and improve our overall game. We’re not disappointed but at this club we have to push for the highest standards all the time.

“It’s not especially about getting results the aim is to develop each player to the level that they are pushing to get into the first team squad.

“That’s always the target and the players know that as well as anyone. We’re pleased with the results, this season we’re up against older opponents and we’re playing in proper stadiums which all adds to the experience that the players are gathering but ultimately we want to be developing them for the first team.”
