Regan defends President Ogilvie

|

Campbell Ogilvie Rangers newsStewart Regan has launched a strong defence of Campbell Ogilvie despite the role of the SFA President in the downfall of Rangers.

Ogilvie was an Ibrox director for five of the years during which the club were found guilty of failing to disclose payments made to players through the EBT scheme in their contracts lodged with the SFA and SPL.

The football club, which is now in liquidation, were fined £250,000 for those offences in midweek.

Ogilvie has cultivated a reputation for his skills as an administrator, as well as being a real top bloke and very nice guy, despite being a director with responsibilities to shareholders and an office holder of various SFA and SPL committees.

Most people would come to the conclusion that Ogilvie was either heavily involved in the non-disclosure or failing to do his duties as a director but Regan takes another view despite the facts about his president being laid bare in the Nimmo Smith report.

“Yes he was a director of the organisation but he was a director of an organisation effectively run and operated by one man,” Regan claimed.

“Campbell Ogilvie from the outset has been upfront, he’s been transparent, he’s put his cards on the table to the board and made it very clear what his role was.

“He was the only member of the old regime that put himself forward to be interviewed by Lord Nimmo Smith and that says a lot about Cambell Ogilvie as a person.”

Regan predictably, in a pre-recorded interview with Radio Scotland, expressed the wish that Scottish football can now move on and work together for the greater good.

Until Regan, Ogilvie and Neil Doncaster move on it’s highly unlikely that the Scottish game will move on with their lack of leadership and failure to apply the rules creating most of the unrest among supporters throughout the game.

Let’s not forget Campbell and Stewart have given us a new league set up to look forward to. You know, the one that failed miserably in Austria and Switzerland. It was too boring and complicated for the Swiss and Austrians; I can hardly wait. “Get intae them”- but first pass me a calculator so I can work out if we want to win this week or not.

You would honestly think that Campbell and Stewart were on a mission to destroy Scottish football- and I’m actually shocked by the lack of resistance to this new league setup from the clubs and from the fans. Everybody seems to be sleepwalking into another brotherhood inspired disaster.

I also agree wholeheartedly with the idea that Celtic supporters, and hopefully supporters from other clubs, should not pay a penny into the SFA coffers until we get people in charge that we can trust.

How stupid would we have to be to keep giving money to people who feel nothing but contempt for us? Would you spend money in Tescos if they treated you the way the SFA does? Boycott Hampden until things change. No trust, then no money.

Regan thinks/hopes it’ll all die down & go away, let me assure you Regan, this is NOT going away! This is just beginning. I would ask my fellow Celtic fans NOT to attend the semi final & possible final,I would ask fans of any other clubs to publicly express their disgust,you/we have been cheated for many years,be loud,be clear & don’t let it go!HH!

  • Thomas says:

The SFA are instituitionaly biased towards Rangers/Sevco.
    It runs deep.
Dont put a penny in the SFA, give them nothing.

    • eastside says:

Exactly right, their is institutionalised bias, EVERYONE KNOWS IT, LITERALLY EVERYONE, yet we are told it is for our own good and to keep paying money and investing emotionally into the corrupt are up! WTF!? Do these people even hear themselves!?

    • mark says:
