Paul Caddis newsPaul Caddis was the Birmingham City hero with the last minutee goal at Bolton that kept Lee Clark’s side in the Championship at the expense of Doncaster Rovers.

After a nightmare recent run of results Birmingham seemed doomed when they fell two goals behind to Bolton who had nothing to play for.

With Doncaster losing at Leicester Nikola Zigic pulled a goal back for Birmingham in the 78th minute before Caddis popped up in the 90th minute to snatch a point and spark scenes of celebration as Clark raced into stand to celebrate with the travelling supporters.

Looking back on the match the former Celtic full-back told the club website: “At 2-0 down, we don’t do it easy do we. Credit to the lads, we’ve dug in and we’ve done it all season. There’s been so many ups and downs but ultimately we crossed the line and thankfully we stayed up.

“We went 2-0 down and the first thing we heard was the fans singing which showed us they’re still behind us. We’ve always got goals in us and you’ve seen that right until the end.”
Caddis started 10 matches for Celtic and made 14 substitute appearances, most famously starting against Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League.
In 2005/06 he was a key player in the Celtic youth side that won the double playing alongside Darren O’Dea, Scott Fox, Mark Millar, Jim O’Brien, Simon Ferry and Charlie Grant.

In 2010 he joined Swindon for £300,000 before moving onto Birmingham two years later after falling out with Paolo di Canio despite captaining the club to promotion from League Two.
