Legia WarsawHenning Berg believes that Legia Warsaw’s Champions League clash with Celtic will be a feast for the fans.

The former Manchester United defender went into last night’s match with St Pat’s against a background of speculation that he would be sacked if the Polish champions failed to progress.

A 1-1 draw in Poland had put the pressure on Berg but after a resounding 5-0 win in Dublin he is looking forward to facing Ronny Deila with a place in the final qualifying round up for grabs.

“We are happy with the win because it is positive for the whole team,” Berg said. “We played on the front foot and put in a quality performance with some style. We showed what we can do.

“I’m pleased with how we handled the pressure, once the second goal went in we started to show how we can play, that goal finished the game.

“Now we can look forward to meeting a good experienced team in Celtic, these games should provide a feast for the fans.”

After watching Celtic score four against KR Reykjavik on Tuesday Deila flew over to Dublin to take in last night’s match.

Celtic play in Poland next week as the Norwegian faces his first real test with a ticket to the final qualifying round up for grabs.

A trip to Dublin would have been far more agreeable but despite showing up well for 170 minutes St Pat’s found themselves on the wrong end of a 6-1 aggregate.

Liam Buckley the St Pat’s coach said: “When you play against such a strong team it can go wrong as we found out but we can be proud of our performances.”
