larsson 2Jordan Larsson has followed in his dad’s footsteps by signing for Helsingborgs.

The 17-year-old has been in the spotlight since his earliest days and was regularly seen kicking a ball around Celtic Park during his dad’s glorious seven year career in the hoops.

A year ago he played alongside his dad in the colours of Hogaborgs with the step up to Helsingborg one that he is looking forward to despite being compared to his famous dad.

“Helsingborg is a fantastic club, hopefully I can develop into a very good player here, and I believe I can,” Jordan told the Helsingborg’s website.

“For me he’s just a regular dad. Obviously I’m proud of what he has done in football, but for me he’ll always be my dad,” said Jordan.
“I’ve heard that some say that we move in the same way and that we’re very alike in our playing style, while others say we’re not alike at all.”

Whistling against the wind Helsingborg director Jesper Jansson said: “They are two different people and there is no need to put an unnecessary burden on Jordan’s shoulders by comparing him to his father.

“Obviously there are similarities in patterns of movement and football intelligence, but let him form his own career.”
While his son’s playing career picks up Henrik is learning the ropes in management with Falkenburg sitting in a comfortable tenth place in the table- one point and two places above Helsingborgs.
With his son now playing in the top flight October 18 promises to be an interesting day with Falkenberg hosting Helsingborgs in the third last match of the season.
