Tony WattRonny Deila has turned to youth for today’s friendly at St Pauli.

Tony Watt makes his first starting appearance since returning from Lierse in a side that has come entirely through the club’s academy apart from Craig Gordon, Amido Balde and Nir Biton.

With a trip to Warsaw coming up on Wednesday to face Legia in the Champions League Kris Commons, Charlie Mulgrew, Virgil van Dijk and the World Cup trio of Fraser Forster, Emilio Izaguirre and Efe Ambrose were left behind in Glasgow.

Today’s substitutes, other than Lucasz Zaluska, were playing against East Kilbride last Saturday.

Looking forward to the match John Herron told the Celtic website: “There is a big tradition between Celtic and St Pauli and I’m sure it will be a great atmosphere,” he told the official Celtic website.

“All the players have been speaking about it since the game against Reykjavik so I’m looking forward to it.

“I’ve always been taught growing up that Celtic don’t do friendlies so although it’s not a competitive game I’m sure the players will take it seriously and the fans will come out as usual in their numbers so it should be a great atmosphere and a great occasion.”

Celtic fans have been pouring into Hamburg all weekend and have been given a warm welcome by their hosts, the two teams have played twice before with Celtic winning the last clash in 2010 with goals from Paddy McCourt and Morten Rasmussen.
