McGeouchDylan McGeouch is set to join Hibs on loan.

The midfielder started Celtic’s 1-0 defeat at Inverness Caley Thistle last week but played part of that match at left-back after Filip Twardzik was substituted.

McGeouch made his Celtic debut three years ago and appeared ready to make the breakthrough after scoring a spectacular goal after coming on as a substitute against St Mirren.

A broken jaw picked up in a friendly against Real Madrid in August 2012 hampered his progress while a loan move to Coventry City in January failed to provide him with the first team football he needed.

McGeouch won’t be joined by Leigh Griffiths in the move east with Alan Stubbs desperate for new faces after a disappointing start to the new season that has saw the Edinburgh side picked up just three points from four matches.

Yesterday Hibs lost 2-1 at Alloa despite taking the lead leaving Stubbs frustrated by their failure to see off part-time opponents.

“That is the most disappointing performance since I have been here,” he admitted.

“We weren’t up for it and we just didn’t do enough. When the performance level dips below the level expected then you expect them to roll up the sleeves and dig in but I did not see what I wanted. It is no good blaming the pitch as it was the same for both teams.

“Even at 1-0 I felt we were not doing enough, not doing the dirty jobs.”

It’s unlikely that any other Celtic players will be going out on loan tomorrow with the Development squad forming the bulk of the squad that will travel to Spain to face Vilareal in a charity match.
