The Green Brigade are set to return to Section 111 for Celtic’s clash with Motherwell next Sunday.

Last December the club withdrew season tickets for that area with fans offered refunds or the chance to be relocated elsewhere within the stadium.

The Green Brigade made a couple of appearances elsewhere last season but that was only after buying individual match tickets.

Last night on the Celtic FC Supporters Liason Officer twitter feed it was announced: “Following positive discussions with fans and SAG Celtic plans to reopen Section 111 for next weeks match v Motherwell, statement to follow.”

The return of the Green Brigade to Section 111 will be welcomed by the majority of supporters although relations became strained last season over a couple of issues.

With a political edge to their banners and displays Celtic have had to keep an eye on the content displayed at Section 111 with the Green Brigade keen to maintain their independence to express their views on a range of issues.

Under Neil Lennon Section 111 came to life as the former hoops boss announced his wish to bring back the thunder.

Chants such as Just Can’t Get Enough were copied by other supporter groups while the club cashed in with merchandise related to Green Brigade chants and songs.

In November 2012 the Green Brigade arranged an awesome tifo display for the match against Barcelona that drew praise and attention throughout social media circles as Celtic celebrated their 125th birthday by beating Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League.

Earlier this season the Green Brigade attended the Champions League qualifiers at Murrayfield but it now seems certain that they will be back as a group for Sunday’s visit from Motherwell.
