John GuidettiStriker John Guidetti has tweeted that Celtic fans deserve better.

Hoops fans endured a stale performance as their side toiled to a 1-1 draw at home to Motherwell.

It took the second half introduction of Scott Brown and Kris Commons to spark some life into the home side with Commons scoring the 68th minute equaliser from the penalty spot after Scott Brown was fouled.

Guidetti made his first start in a Celtic shirt alongside Anthony Stokes in attack but was given little opportunity to shine as the hoops struggled to make any impact on the Motherwell defence.

“So frustrated about today fans were amazing as always,” the Swedish striker tweeted. “You deserve More, we keep going, with hard work it will come ! .”

Guidetti’s frustration was mirrored by Ronny Deila as his side made it just one win from their last seven outings.

“I’m not happy with the result,” the Celtic boss said afterwards. “We wanted to win the game and we deserved it in the end but we made it so difficult for ourselves in the first half because we were so poor.

“We had a bad tempo, there were no passes forward and everyone was going against the ball, so we didn’t break them down once in the first half and that’s not good enough.

“In the second half we had two good substitutes coming on in Kris Commons and Scott Brown. They brought energy into the game and we played quite well.

“We had good transition when we lost the ball, we were winning it straight back with a lot of possession and we created chances as well.

“However, we need more play in the wide areas. When you’re going to break down a team like this you need opposite movements as well. It was better in the second half but we made it difficult for ourselves with a start like that.”
