linesman flagThe fun of the journey through the lowest reaches of the Scottish game seems to have worn thin on Lee McCulloch.

No longer surrounded by team-mates whose wages are backed up by generous loans without any repayment schedules the former Wigan star found the going tough yesterday as Alloa drew 1-1 with the Championship new boys.

It took Sevco until the 86th minute to equalise through David Templeton with a late ‘goal’ by Jon Daly disallowed for offside by assistant referee Lorraine Clark.

With the shadow of administration hanging over the club the draw at Alloa proved too much for the Sevco skipper with the club website providing a willing outlet for his anger.

McCulloch said: “I was behind Jon when he put the ball in the net so it was hard for me to tell if it should have stood or not. Everyone was coming up to me though saying it wasn’t offside and it summed up what was a strange day.

“Their goalie was allowed 30 seconds with the ball sometimes and that was the most frustrating thing for me. Obviously they’re going to do that if they can and I’m not having a go at their game plan or anything like that.

“There used to be a six-second rule that goalkeepers had to adhere to but that doesn’t seem to be the case any more.”

With goalkeeper Cameron Bell out crocked till the new year manager Ally McCoist may have to go back into the transfer market after Lee Wallace and Nicky Clark picked up injuries.

The SPL’s record goalscorer Kris Boyd has still to open his account in the Championship while former Vancouver Whitecaps ace Kenny Miller is likely to be out for a month with a troublesome groin strain.

Elsewhere in the Championship Hearts beat Cowdenbeath 5-1 to move three points ahead of Sevco while the troubles of Hibs continued with Alan Stubbs’ side losing 1-0 away to managerless Queen of the South.
