Thirteen days on from the disastrous defeat at home by Hamilton Accies Ronny Deila is hoping to have three players back from injury to face Ross County.
Over the last few matches Deila’s defensive choices have been limited with Efe Ambrose, Virgil van Dijk, Jason Denayer and Emilio Izaguirre the regular choice.
The availability of Mikel Lustig and Adam Matthews will provide options at the back with a testing time coming up ahead of the next international break.
“It’s positive that people are coming back again,” Deila revealed. “Lustig, Adam, Charlie and Forrest who’s near to coming back again so things are looking positive.
“They could be in contention for Saturday – three of them and maybe Forrest as well. We’ll see.”
It’s over six weeks since Matthews, Lustig or Mulgrew played for Celtic with Lustig the most likely to start today after being an unused substitute in Sweden’s internationals against Russia and Liechtenstein.
Failure to take full points from today’s match is unthinkable for most hoops fans with Deila well aware of the stakes.
“Do I understand you need results? Yes I understand that,” the Celtic boss stated. “I have been a supporter myself but again, my task is also to think about how we are going to get the results and we need to work every day to get better performances.
“You could also say in some other games in Europe, we have been very good but if you see our goal chances we have possibly not been very effective, so to see behind it sometimes is very important.
“We were going the right way, so Hamilton was a hard hit to take and you can say I did not see it coming. We created 12 very good chances against Hamilton and did not score one.
“If we create 12 chances each game, we are going to win games, so there are some positive things but the result was not good enough and that’s what we want. We are after one against Ross County.”
