Liam Henderson Liam Henderson and Paul McMullan scored in Scotland’s 2-2 draw with Finland this afternoon.

Ricky Sbragia is in charge of the side competing in the first qualifying round of the U-19 European Championship in Lithuania which also features Norway.

Scotland’s next match is against hosts Lithuania on Thursday before completing the section against on Sunday against Norwat. McMullan and Henderson have scored seven goals in their last two Development League matches and were joined in the Scotland side by Calum Waters.

It took Scotland 33 minutes to open the scoring through McMullan with Henderson doubling the lead on the hour mark from the penalty spot after he had been fouled in the penalty box.

Fred Lassas pulled a goal back for Finland with 13 minutes left to play then equalised in stoppage time through Sako Savolainen.

Jack Harper of Real Madrid was among the Scotland substitutes and is pleased to mix performing for Real in the u-19 Champions League with international duty after being born in Scotland before his family moved to Spain.

Harper said: “Playing for the Real Madrid and Scotland first teams are two of my ambitions. It would be a great honour to one day play for Scotland at a World Cup.

“It’s great to be representing Scotland at under-19 level and we really want to make sure we go through to the next stage.”

The other group match, between Lithuania and Norway kicks off at 4pm Celtic Park time. Celtic’s development squad are back in action next Tuesday at home to Hamilton Accies at Cappielow.
