Jackie-McNamara-PTFCFormer Celt’s Paul Hartley, Alan Stubbs and Jackie McNamara can all look forward to Monday’s Scottish Cup fifth round after watching their side’s win today.

First to celebrate was Hartley with a dramatic late goal from David Clarkson giving Dundee a 2-1 win over Aberdeen.

Dundee had taken the lead in the fourth minute through a Thomas Konrad header but the same player put the ball into his own net 13 minutes later.

The tie seemed to be heading for a replay at Pittodrie until Clarkson popped up in stoppage time with his eighth goal in as many matches although there was still time for Niall McGinn to smash a shot off the bar.

In his first Scottish Cup tie as a manager Stubbs had to endure a few nervy moments before Hibs were able to see off Alloa.

Daryll Meggatt opened the scoring for the homeside in the 15th minute but before the interval goals from Liam Craig and David Gray ensured that Hibs made it through to the next round.

At Fir Park Dundee United left it late before seeing off Motherwell. Kenny Black’s side opened the scoring in the seventh minute through Henrik Ojamaa with United equalising midway through the second half through John Souttar before Keith Watson headed the winner with eight minutes left to play.

In England Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa drew 1-1 away to Burnley, Bolton jumped into 18th place thanks to a 1-0 win over Huddersfield but there was disappointment for Malky Mackay as Wigan lost 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday.
