Ronny DeilaRonny Deila wasn’t fooled by Celtic’s 2-1 win over Dundee.

The visitors were the most impressive side for long periods but were unable to convert their possession and chances into goals.

A header from Anthony Stokes in first half stoppage time and John Guidetti’s tenth goal of the season put Celtic 2-0 up early in the second half but a goal from David Clarkson ensured a nervy last half hour for the home support.

“It was a poor performance,” Deila admitted. ” I expected more from the game, I take the three points and the second goal was fantastic.

“In a negative way, we weren’t together in the pressing, not compact enough in the first half.

“We were better at the beginning of the second half and made it 2-0, but again we dropped down instead of going at them and getting three and four.

“We conceded a stupid goal and then they get energy and we get a little bit frightened. When we go 2-0 up we should just attack them and we have to work on that.

“I can’t understand why we are dropping, we should keep the energy and push up. It was good that we took three points and it is hard to criticise when you are winning, but we have to learn from this and get to another level on Thursday.”

Celtic play Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday knowing that a win against the Austrian’s will book their place in the last 32 of the competition and ensure European football into the new year.
