Joe Ledley1Neil Warnock has revealed his frustrations over Joe Ledley’s hip injury.

The former Celtic midfielder scored in Crystal Palace’s 3-1 win over Liverpool on November 23 but missed the midweek defeat from Crystal Palace.

Ledley’s midfield drive is key to Palace’s survival hopes with a dozen sides all fighting to avoid the drop. Warnock has taken over from Tony Pullis with minimal disruption and would love to have a fully fit Ledley available over the coming months.

“What happened last time was he was on the bench as a sub,” the Palace boss revealed. “He never felt it, but he went to warm up and it just went. I wanted to put him on but I couldn’t. He was about a week in treatment after that.

“It just flares up. He first did it when he was away with Wales on one of the games. We have managed to control it, but it was one of those.

“Joe had a hip problem when I first came and missed a game and that has just flared up again. So we don’t know about him for Saturday against Tottenham.

“It is usually about a week, which makes him touch and go for the weekend, but he responded last week so we are hoping he will be available. But we won’t know until the nearer the time.”

Palace are one point above third bottom Burnley, after today’s trip to Spurs they face Stoke at home then Manchester City away to kick off the busy festive programme.
