Karaoke McCoistAlly McCoist has been sent on gardening leave by Sevco.

The 52-year-old handed in his notice 10 days ago and immediately earned himself a bumper pay rise as his 12 months notice period kicked in.

A dirty war started between club and lame duck manager as stories were put about by each side of the dispute to undermine the other with claims that Mark er um Hateley had been digging the dirt on his old team-mate’s training regime.

On Friday McCoist claimed that it would be business as usual, which Paddy Power cruelly tweeted was sausage suppers and pay rises, as he refused to go into any detail about his decision to walk away.

Tonight it has emerged that Sevco have decided to end his disastrous reign as manager by putting McCoist on gardening leave which provides him with full pay which will be cancelled if he speaks out about his role.

A club statement said: “Rangers would like to announce that Ally McCoist has relinquished his duties as manager and will serve out the remainder of his contract on gardening leave.

“We would like to thank Ally for all his hard work in the last few years but we feel it is now in the best interests of all parties to move on.”

Despite his own decision to walk away from Sevco McCoist felt the need to tell directors to sort out the contracts of the highly paid duds that he had signed.

In this morning’s news papers he said: “There are players’ contracts that are up before mine and that has to be addressed.

It’s 100 per cent correct that these players are informed and have the knowledge of what’s ?happening at the end of their contracts.”

Tomorrow Sevco will host their AGM in the open air at Ibrox with the departure of a manager who lost cup ties to Forfar Athletic, Alloa Athletic, Falkirk, Raith Rovers and Queen of the South likely to prove a useful distraction to the financial calamity unfolding.

McCoist also felt the need to lecture the club on recent redundancies including loyal Laura who had served managers for over 40 years.

Clearly, it also happens in other walks of life, but that doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t affect you,” the £750,000-a-year manager said.

In fact, you’d be more concerned if it didn’t have an impact on you. Can Rangers be Rangers without people like Laura?

Well, there’s no point shirking the issue. We don’t have John ?Greig any more, we don’t have ?Sandy Jardine and now we don’t have Laura Tarbet.

It’s just sad that we’re losing ?people who are synonymous with the club and are part of its identity.

It would be wrong of me to say the club is losing its soul. But we are now definitely missing people that have meant so much to Rangers over the years. Did it contribute to my decision? There were an awful lot ?of things and I wouldn’t go into ?specifics. But I’ve made my decision and I’ll stick by it.”

Despite claims that he had to deal with troubles behind the scenes McCoist is on record praising the support and help that he received from Craig Whyte, Charles Green, Craig Mather and Graham Wallace who used to work for Manchester City.

Kenny McDowall has been put temporary in charge of the first team but it’s believed that Lee McCulloch and Bilel Mohsni are being weighed up as an alternative management team.
