PukkiTeemu Pukki is open to the idea of turning his loan deal with Brondby into a permanent transfer.

The Finish striker failed to score in the 1-0 win over Silkeborg yesterday but has made a big impression since moving out on loan at the end of August.

Whether Brondby can come close to matching his wages of pay a fee similar to the £2.5m that Celtic forked out to sign Pukki from Schalke 04 remains to be seen.

“I am concentrating on playing but it’s possible I could continue my deal, I like it here,” he said. “All of the games are fairly even and the teams are of a good standard.

“Now I’m leaving for a holiday in Dubai then I’ll spend Christmas at home in Kotka, last year I didn’t get home at Christmas because we had a match on Boxing Day.”

Yesterday’s win leaves Brondby in fourth place as the Danish season closes down for the winter break.

Midtjylland look unstoppable with an eight point lead over 1FK Copenhagen with Brondy a further five points behind.

Pukki has scored five goals since moving to Denmark to add to the two goals that he netted at Murrayfield for Celtic against KR Reykjavik in a Champions League qualifier.

Those goals suggested that the 24-year-old would have a part to play in Ronny Deila’s plans but after starting the 4-1 defeat away to Legia Warsaw he dropped out of contention.

Holmbert Fridjonsson is also on loan to Brondby scoring one goal from three starts and five substitute appearances although he finished up as one of the leading scorers in the Euro u21 qualifiers with five goals from eight appearances.
