Neil LennonNeil Lennon didn’t expect Manchester United to disrupt his preparations for tomorrow’s FA Cup replay against Liverpool.

During a busy day of transfer activity that saw Filip Twardzik and Barry Bannon join Bolton word came in that Andy Kellet was wanted at Old Trafford.

Andy who? was the reaction as the news was made public followed by shock that a 21-year-old who was on loan at Plymouth Argyle was wanted by the richest club in the country.

Kellet has started just one first team match for Bolton but apparently caught the eye of Manchester United scouts who’ve taken him on loan in return for Saidy Janko arriving at Bolton.

“I said, ‘sorry Andy, you’re not going to Plymouth, you’re going to Man Utd,” Lennon told his morning’s press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match with Liverpool.

“He surprised to say the least. He rang his dad, who had to sit down for a while to take it all in.

“Funnily enough, he had his mate with him and said, ‘bring him in.’ “This was about half 10 last night and his mate walks in with a Man United tracksuit on!”

After a well earned 0-0 draw at Anfield in the FA Cup Bolton have taken just one point from the league matches against Rotherham and Wolves.

Having built up some momentum following Lennon’s arrival those results make it unlikely that Bolton can make a challenge for a play-off spot.

The departures of Jay Spearing to Blackburn Rovers and Chung Yong-Lee to Crystal Palace have left a big gap in midfield but could create an opening for Twardzik who spent time on trial with Coventry City before Christmas.
