The Green Brigade are promising one of their most spectacular displays ever at Thursday’s Europa League tie with Inter Milan.
According to a statement from the crew in 111 it will be one of the most original and creative displays and has taken a couple of weeks in creating.
Down the years the Green Brigade have came up with a number of spectacular tifo displays often drawing on Celtic’s rich European heritage.
The 1967 European Cup Final continues to provide inspiration for all sorts of displays with the colours of Celtic and Inter already out on display along the Celtic Way.
In November 2012 for Celtic’s match with Barcelona the Green Brigade produced a whole stadium display illustrating Celtic’s 125th birthday with images of the display beamed around the world on social media.
At today’s pre-match media conferences both managers made mention of the historic nature of the game which has been sold out for two weeks.
Hoops boss Ronny Deila said: “Inter is a big club in the history of European football. Celtic have been big as well but it’s a different league and a different level they play at normally.
“We have everything to win. We go in with lots of confidence. If we get a good result, we’ll put a lot of pressure on them when we play them away from home.”
Inter boss Roberto Mancini admitted: “It will be a great atmosphere tomorrow night and Celtic is quite right to use that to their advantage,’ said the former Manchester City boss.
“It will help our players as well. It will be a good experience for them. In the end it is 11 versus 11 and it could be something that could work to Inter’s advantage as well.
I am proud to be Inter manager. This match will be a great event.
“To have our team play in front of 60,000 fans is something that we have maybe lost a little in Italy in recent years. But I will be more proud if Inter wins and we can make our fans happy.”
