WattTony Watt enthralled a packed Valley as Charlton beat Huddersfield 3-0 to move into the top half of the Championship.

After a worrying run of results that led to the appointment of Guy Luxon the Addicks have won three of their last four matches with Watt introduced to the team.

The former Celtic striker has had a tough time over the last two years but looks to be settling in at Charlton under the wing of a manager with faith in his ability.

“Tony is a player that in the summer I fought a lot to sign him at Standard Liege and I’m happy that me and him are together at Charlton now,” Luxon said.

Over 25,000 turned up with tickets pegged at £5 for the return of Charlton favourite Chris Powell in charge of Huddersfield.

Johan Gudmundson opened the scoring ten minutes from half-time with Watt sealing the points with goals in the 48th and 71st minutes.d.

Luzon has his work cut out to convince Charlton fans that he can lead the club back to the Premiership but is pleased with the progress that the team is making.

“My target when I’m coach is to bring results and the way we bring the results,” he stated.

“It was very important for us that today with a full stadium that the fans and the people around the club would go home with a good feeling. It’s also very important the way we play.

“Today we played well on the ground, we played with a lot of combinations in attack and we were calm with the ball.

“We are happy with the result and we are happy with the way we played and that’s important to me. When I win ugly it’s okay but I like to win beautiful. I believe, if you play ugly football, in the long-term you will not bring results.”
