SFAThe SFA have charged St Mirren manager Gary Teale for criticising Steven McLean but have remained silent on Ian Black’s comments about Craig Thomson.

Teale made his outburst after the defeat from Dundee with the SFA charge based on official You Tube and twitter accounts with stronger comments made to the media in general.

After losing to Celtic in the semi-final of the League Cup Black claimed that Thomson bottled out of red carding Scott Brown with the yellow card a copout.

An SFA announcement today stated: “In that on 24th January 2015 following the Scottish Professional Football League Premiership match between St Mirren FC and Dundee FC, in an interview later posted on the St Mirren FC Twitter account and the Scottish Professional Football League YouTube account, you made comments criticising the performance of the Match Officials in a manner which indicated bias or incompetence on their part.”

Teale said: “I’m a wee bit cynical in terms of Yoann’s (Arquin) two bookings, I thought they were very, very harsh.

“I don’t know if it was pre-empted by the referees because we had the one rescinded last week but to book him for the two things that he booked him for, I’m extremely disappointed.”

After his side’s Hampden defeat Black told reporters: “Scott Brown’s challenge at the end was naughty but I’ll take it.

I went to the referee and if he was a bit of a man and it was earlier on in the game then Brown would have walked up the tunnel but it was the end of the game and I felt he bottled it.

It was a cop-out. I know 100 per cent if that was myself I would have walked – and people would have lapped it up.”
