Mark BurchillLivingston brought their five match losing run to a halt with a 1-1 draw against play-off chasing Sevco at Ibrox.

Mark Burchill’s side went into the match having suffered the agony of losing an 88th minute goal in a 2-1 defeat from Hibs on Wednesday on the back of losing to Raith Rovers, Falkirk and twice to Hearts since the 0-0 draw at home to Alloa on February 3. In 28 matches this season the new town outfit have won just four matches.

Starting the match seven points adrift of second bottom Alloa, Livi fell behind to a ninth minute goal from on loan Newcastle striker Haris Vuckic as the Stuart McCall reign kicked off in style.

The former Motherwell manager was given a great welcome as he entered the arena wearing a club blazer, shirt and tie, smart slacks and the brownest of brogues.

Jon Daly, Bilel Mohsni and Ian Black were dropped from the squad entirely with the pacy strike-force of Nicholas Clark and Kenneth Miller given the chance to impress.

After weathering a 15 minute storm from the homeside Livi started to pass the ball around in midfield with the homeside tiring as they were forced to track back.

In the final minute of the first half Ibra Sekajja equalised with a close range shot but injured himself in the celebrations in front of the stunned home fans.

With cash tight ahead of the March payroll just 35,066 were present for McCall’s first match with the homeside unable to find a winner in the second half despite sending on Kris Boyd and David Templeton.

Elsewhere in the Championship there were wins for Hearts, Hibs and Queen of the South increasing the pressure on McCall whose side are in danger of slipping out of the play-off places.

A defeat at Hibs next Sunday is likely to kill off their hopes of finishing in second place with the humiliation of applauding champions Hearts onto the pitch at Ibrox looming on April 5.
