Wacky Charles Green is planning a sensational Sevco return!

Despite Dave King’s EGM victory fears are surfacing about the future of the League One champions with no word on how Mr King plans to stem annual losses in the region of £10m.

Mr Green was hand picked by Duff & Phelps to buy the assets from Rangers (IL) and had a colourful year in the spotlight winning over the gullible support.

Going to war with the SFA, offering Ally McCoist a contract for life and cups of tea for season ticket holders soon had the cash pouring in with £20m raised from a public share issue.

Moonbeams galore followed as Green talked about a commercial link up with the Dallas Cowboys, a kit deal with Adidas, producing better accounts than Celtic and staying around to hear the Champions League anthem booming over Ibrox.

None of those claims were realised with Mr Green quitting after a manufactured race row as his links to Craig Whyte emerged and details of onerous contracts and the carve up of penny shares started to surface.

The big ‘anded Yorkshireman has been keeping a low profile in France but after his farcical hospital interview for Sky Sports has decided to open his heart to the Scottish Sun.

Despite Mike Ashley’s men being ousted from the blue room of dignity the Sports Direct tycoon is still a major player at Ibrox with his merchandising and advertising deals and loans that kept the lights on through the winter.

The terms of Mr Ashley’s loan allow him to appoint two directors if the club draw down the second part of a £10m facility with Mr Green angling for a return.

“My understanding is that Ashley’s loan requires that ‘e ‘as two people on the board,” the former Sheffield United supremo suggested. “Well, I’m ‘appy to go back and represent Ashley. I can imagine that being fun, can’t you?”

“Of course, if Paul Murray and Dave King have really got cash, I suspect this week they’ll pay Ashley ‘is money back and then put their money in instead to replace it.

“If not, I suspect on Monday, they’ll be inviting Ashley to appoint two new directors. For me, ‘e ‘as to ‘ave two on the board because you can’t ‘ave people, like Sandy Easdale and him say, with 34 per cent of shares sat on the outside.

“Whether you listen to them when they’re in or whether you ignore them, that’s a different matter. But what you can’t do is run a club without representation from over a third of your shareholders.

“Let’s be really clear about this, if Mike Ashley really wants to get back in Rangers, the whole of Scotland will die before you can starve him out. ‘e’s a billionaire, the 15th richest man in Europe. You can’t starve ‘im out.

“If you’ve seen ‘im on TV ‘e’s a big guy. He don’t look as if he’s starving to me.”

Since Mr King took over there has been no announcement about fresh funding, the Three Bears have split up and Mr King has returned to South Africa leaving Paul Murray, John Gilligan and loan bear Douglas Park in the boardroom dependent on the generosity of Mr Ashley.
