Tony MowbrayTony Mowbray believes that two home wins can secure Coventry’s League One future.

The former Celtic boss replaced Steven Pressley last month and was charged with steering the former Premiership side clear of the bottom tier.

Under Mowbray the rollercoaster has continued with nine clubs separated by four points hoping to avoid three relegation places to join Yeovil in League Two.

Full points from the matches against Colchester and Oldham would give Coventry some breathing space but anything less is likely to ensure that the battle to avoid relegation will go to the final day away to Crawley who are currently on the same points mark.

On Monday Coventry drew 1-1 away to fellow strugglers Notts County with Mowbray refusing to get drawn in to the emotions of the relegation battle.

“We could have got three points today,” the former Celtic boss said. “But we could also have lost. We had some chances and built up good periods of pressure, especially at the start of the second half.

“You hope that you can score in those moments, but it wasn’t to be on Monday. However it is important to get something from these games when they are so tremendously tight.

“We have to apply some craft to our hard work and there’s now two extremely important games at home. We need to put our bad home form behind us.

“We can push clear if we win them. Ten points out of 12 away from home in the last four away games is some going.”
