Mark HillMarc Crosas was among the first to congratulate Celtic’s u-17 side on their Glasgow Cup success.

Goals from Josh Kerr and Mark Hill ensured the trophy remained at Celtic Park with goalkeeper Ross Doohan completing the tournament without losing a single goal.

Shortly after the final whistle at Hampden, from his base in Mexico Crosas, known as the Bishop for confirming genuine twitter accounts, tweeted: “Congratulations to @celticfc Under 17’s on winning the Glasgow Cup against Rangers (again)! #COYBIG #GlasgowsGreenAndWhite.”

Crosas joined Celtic from Barcelona in August 2008 and left two and a half years later having failed to nail down a regular place in midfield.

During that period twitter took off allowing another side of the Catalan midfielder to emerge as he happily engaged with Celtic supporters with his feelings for the club shining through.

The joys of three consecutive championship successes and the big European successes have been celebrated from afar with the same feelings of other exiled Celtic fans.

Shortly after leaving Celtic for Russia he sent a letter saying: “After three years in Glasgow it’s time to say goodbye. And it’s hard. As a football player, all I want is to play and now it’s time for me to move to another club and another league.

Everything here at Celtic is fantastic, but another club is calling me with the possibility to have the minutes that I need. My job is to play football, and as much as I love this club, I need to play.

“Over the last three years I have learnt a lot of things. Now I can say that I’m one of the lucky Bhoys to have played at Paradise in the green and white shirt. Being a part of the Celtic family has been great and Celtic will always remain in my heart.

“After my time here I have came to understand why the Celtic supporters are well known all around the world and why this club is so special. There will always be a big space for all my fantastic memories here, the good moments when I was playing and even the bad ones. Marc Crosas is moving to another place, but a big part of his heart will remain here.

“I would love to thank everyone who made me feel at home here – the staff, players and fans. I leave a lot of friends here. Real friends! I believe in this team, I believe in this club and I wish that at the end of the season every Celtic fan on earth will be proud of Lenny, Thommo, Johan, Garry and all my team-mates. Hail! Hail! Marc.”
