Gary Hooper - Norwich CityGary Hooper returned to haunt Neil Lennon with a stoppage time winner as Norwich beat Bolton 2-1.

Norwich took the lead in the 9th minute through Graham Dorrans but the home side levelled through Adam Lefondre in the 18th minute.

The game seemed certain to end on level terms but Hooper, a 66th minute replacement for Nathan Redmond, had other idea sliding the ball into the top corner of the net to keep the Canaries in second place behind Bournemouth and on course for a return to the Premier League.

Just two points separate the top four teams in the Championship with two automatic promotion places for the riches of the top division.

Despite the defeat there was the consolation for Bolton that they are officially clear of relegation after Millwall lost 2-0 at home to Watford.

After an initial run of results when he took over from Dougie Freeman the former Celt has had his work cut out in the second half of the season with little money to spend.

Bolton were linked with a loan move for Hooper during the January transfer window but that deal never got off the ground.

After taking over from Tony Mowbray as Celtic boss Lennon moved quickly for Hooper and was rewarded with 82 goals in three seasons with the striker scoring his final goals in the 2013 Scottish Cup Final win over Hibs.

On Tuesday night Bolton are at home to Charlton who could include former Celtic striker Tony Watt in their side.
