Frail and KennedyCeltic and Hibs will find out their SFA Youth Cup destiny on May 7 when they meet at Celtic Park for a place in the final.

While the country goes to the polls to elect a new government Celtic Park will provide the setting as the two sides chase a place in the Hampden final.

After four consecutive trophy wins Celtic are anxious to reclaim the trophy after losing out to St Johnstone in the fourth round last season.

This term Stevie Frail’s side have seen off Motherwell, Dundee United and Hamilton Accies to reach the last four, in the SPFL clashes Celtic drew 1-1 with Hibs at Cappielow before winning 3-0 in the return match played at Spartans.

Playing at Celtic Park will be a welcome return to grass for the young Celts who are in the middle of a three match run playing on artificial surfaces.

Last night goals from Joe Thomson, Tom Rogic and Aidan Nesbitt gave Celtic a 3-2 win at Kilmarnock to follow up on the 2-0 win away to Hamilton on Thursday. On Thursday Frail’s side visit Falkirk before hosting St Johnstone on Monday at Cappielow before the last four clash with Hibs.

The rush of games is providing the perfect setting for Kieran Tierney and Rogic to regain full fitness after lengthy spells out injured.

Tierney made a brief first team appearance last week at Dundee but last night’s win at Kilmarnock was his first 90 minutes since breaking his ankle in December.

Rogic played for 60 minutes last night and showed that he’s not far away from full fitness with some great runs from midfield despite being on the receiving end of some robust treatment from the Ayrshire side.

Lower league outfits Ayr United and Sevco will meet in the other semi-final at Somerset Park on Monday May 3.
