Hague v BeattyStars from football and showbiz will be in action tomorrow at Hamilton’s Douglas Park as Team Hague take on Team Beatty in a charity challenge.

Simba, the charity for parents of still born children, Down’s & Proud and the Hamilton Academical Community Trust will all benefit with the two teams managed by Lisa Hague and Jay Beatty.

Among those putting their boots on will be Andy Peyton who had a brief but goal filled time playing for Celtic in the early nineties.

Peyton will be joined by Jose Quitongo, St Johnstone skipper Dave Mackay and others while the world of showbiz will be led by Nicky McDonald from X Factor and stars from River City.

The gates open at 11am in the morning for a kids football tournament with face painting, bouncy castles and other activities to suit all ages. A family ticket for two adults and two kids costs just £10.

The event is the final fundraiser of the season for Lisa who has completed a mountain of fund raising tasks since the turn of the year ranging from Sky Dive at Celtic Park, pulling pints in the Hoops Bar through to sitting on every seat inside Celtic Park alongside Nicky McDonald.

Working hard organising the match Babs McMahon said: “I’ve been very lucky to be personal friends of the Beatty family from Lurgan whose son wee Jay has been featured all over the Scottish media, Sky Sports, the Greek FA awards ceremony and the Barcelona awards ceremony. More notably he was nominated for and won the SPFL January Goal of the Month Award after his tremendous half time penalty at New Douglas Park when Celtic played Hamilton.

“Martin, Jay’s dad was delighted for Jay to be our manager so now the wheels were somewhat in motion. Jay has also been awarded the Celtic Supporter of the Year award and we are delighted to announce that Jay will be presented with his award on the day of the charity match. Where would we host it?

“An initial venue turned out to be too small as the idea had generated so much interest so we asked William Watson, who is the groundsman at Hamilton, if he could speak to his CEO Colin McGowan with a view to hosting the event at their stadium. Once Colin heard who was involved he agreed. This was now gathering momentum.”

The gates open tomorrow at 11am, ticket prices are £5 adults and £2.50 concession
