GMSGary Mackay-Steven has revealed that he’ll be playing football in the park during the close season.

The former Dundee United man has settled quickly into life in Glasgow and likes nothing more than having a kick about in Kelvingrove Park.

Mackay-Steven scored within a minute of his Celtic debut away to Partick Thistle and admits that whenever he loves to head to the park whenever he has time on his hands.

“I was in ?Kelvingrove Park a couple of weeks ago playing keepy-uppy on my own,” he admitted.

“I just put a hat on so no one recognised me. Or at least I don’t think anyone saw me, I was too busy enjoying myself.

“It’s something I’ve always enjoyed doing. It benefits my job to be working on my touch and skills but that’s not the reason why I do it.

“I do it because I enjoy it and every footballer would probably say the same – that it’s more fun with a ball at your feet than just walking around.

“I’ve never had any random guys wanting to join in for a game or looking for a pass. Although I must say I’m tempted whenever I see kids playing with a ball in the park to go over and join in their kickabout. That side of me will never change, I just love football.”

In 12 appearances since joining Celtic during the January transfer window the former Dundee United winger has scored four goals.
