Would any of these 100 Championship free agents improve Celtic?

|

Money in FootballAs Ronny Deila enjoys the briefest of summer breaks the Celtic boss will be thinking of who he can bring in to strengthen the side expected to negotiate three rounds of Champions League qualifiers.

In recent times Celtic have signed Joe Ledley, Adam Matthews and Gary Hooper from the Championship with over 100 players just released from the same division.

There is no such thing as a free transfer in this day and age but a free agent cuts out one layer of negotiations in the complex deal to bring in new faces.

Several former Celts are among those released ranging from Marc-Antoine Fortune to Lee Naylor who’ve severed their links with Wigan and Derby County respectively.

Millwall have released almost their entire squad, among them Ireland goalkeeper David Forde who is likely to be linked with a move to Celtic with Lucasz Zaluska likely to be moving on.

For good measure long term Celtic target Ian Harte is again available as well as Gavin Gunning and Kevin McNaughton who both know their way around the Scottish game.
